Fire damages West Lafayette apartment

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – West Lafayette firefighters responded to an apartment fire just before 10 p.m. Saturday.

The fire broke out inside an apartment at the Mayfair Village apartment complex. Fire Chief Timothy Heath said a resident saw smoke billowing out of the building and called 911. He said the apartment received heavy smoke damage but nobody was injured.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
