FN Lutz III waived by Colts

INDIANAPOLIS (WLFI) – The Indianapolis Colts waived 17 players players on Saturday afternoon including former Harrison Raider FN Lutz III.

Lutz was signed by the Colts as an undrafted free agent in June. The former Indiana State Sycamore started 42 of 44 career games at ISU, including all 12 games at center for the Sycamores in 2013.

Lutz could be brought back to the Colts as a member of their 10-player practice squad. With Saturday’s roster moves, the Colts have reached the league-mandated 53-man roster.

Other players who were waived include QB Chandler Harnish, TE Weslye Saunders, ILB Kelvin Sheppard, and TE Erik Swoope.

The team also released NT Brandon McKinney, waived injured T Matt Hall and S Delano Howell and placed OLB Robert Mathis on the Reserve/Suspended by Commissioner list. If Hall and Howell clear waivers, they will revert to the team’s Injured Reserve list.

The Colts made a deal with the Seattle Seahawks as well, trading CB Marcus Burley in exchange for a sixth-round selection in the 2015 NFL Draft.
