Global Fest

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – A free event featured sights and sounds from across the globe in West Lafayette on Saturday.

The 19th annual Global Fest featured 30 different countries. From China to Ukraine there was plenty of food, performances and booths on display at the Morton Community Center.

Many vendors were made up of Purdue clubs and organizations. The annual event gave them the chance to bring their part of the world to Greater Lafayette.

“It’s really a chance for the community to come together,” Morton Community Center director Bess Witcosky. “West Lafayette does have a lot of different international countries represented, and so Global Fest is a time to celebrate that.”

The event began Saturday morning and continued until to 9 p.m. with an Afro-Cuban music performance and traditional Mexican dance group among the events in the evening. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
