Friends of Attica man restore pickup to say thank you

ATTICA, Ind. (WLFI) – A Fountain County man is enjoying a smooth ride after his friends restore his pickup truck.

Lifelong Fountain County resident Howard Snider owns a 1996 Dodge pickup that was looking a little rusty. His friends at the Crossroads restaurant in Attica noticed and decided to do something about it.

One of his friends asked to borrow it for a few days and Snider agreed. A local mechanics shop got to work, and about two weeks later they surprised him with a totally redone body.

Snider’s friend Ira Wilson said this deed is just payback for Snider’s kindness over the years.

“He’s just a friend. He’d help anybody. He’d do anything for anybody. If you need something, the man would give you the shirt off his back,” said Wilson.

“Great surprise. It’s wonderful, wonderful. I didn’t realize I had so many friends, that I have. Some of them lie a little to you,” said Snider.

He said he can’t believe how good his truck looks now. Snider also owns van, but he says his pickup has a much smoother ride. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
