Purdue volleyball moves to No. 7 in AVCA Top 25 Coaches Poll

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (Purdue Sports) — The Boilermaker volleyball team moved up a spot to No. 7 in this week’s AVCA Top 25 Coaches Poll, matching the highest ranking ever in program history. Purdue was previously ranked seventh on Nov. 14, 1983, and on Aug. 27, 2012.

The Boilers, which opened the season with a trio of sweeps en route to the Mortar Board Premier title last weekend, were ranked eighth in the preseason coaches poll, marking their highest ever ranking to open a season.

Purdue (3-0) hits the road this weekend and will face off with UNC-Asheville, Elon and Kennesaw State at the KSU Owls Invitational in Kennesaw, Ga. The Boilermakers play UNC-Asheville at 5 p.m. Friday. Saturday’s slate features a 10 a.m. match with Elon and a 7:30 contest with the host Owls, which will be streamed live on ESPN3.
