TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — A bridge that sits in limbo will soon belong to Tippecanoe County.

As News 18 previously reported, INDOT wanted to relinquish the bridge over North River Road in West Lafayette to the county. County Highway Director Opal Kuhl wanted certain work to be done to it that the state was not planning to do.

However, early this summer INDOT agreed to $400,000 in repairs. Kuhl said a Road Transfer Memorandum is being signed, which means the bridge will be the county’s in a few months.

INDOT will give the county the money to contract the bridge construction, which Kuhl said will take place next summer.
