WLPD: Pleased with first football weekend

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — The numbers are in, and the West Lafayette Police Department said they are pleased with the way the football weekend went.

There were six arrests, which Chief Jason Dombkowski said is like any normal weekend. However, he said there were some traffic issues, which will be discussed in a traffic meeting between Purdue and the city of West Lafayette Tuesday.

“We had some issues out on the McCormick Road corridor that made their way to our office this morning, so we’ll take a look at those with Purdue,” said Dombkowski.

He expects this second game weekend to be busier because it is not a holiday weekend.
