BATTLE GROUND, Ind. (WLFI) — All-you-can-eat meals are great, but are even better when it’s for a good cause. The Tippecanoe Township Volunteer Fire Department is hosting an all-you-can-eat Spaghetti Dinner.
Firefighter Corey Baker stopped by News 18 at Noon to tell us more about the event and how it benefits their department.
The Tippecanoe Township VFD used to do a chicken fry as their big fundraiser for the year, but switched it to pasta last year. This is the second year for the Italian-themed event. Baker said he would like to see a sell-out event as this is the fire department’s main fundraiser for the year.
“All the proceeds benefit our fire department,” Baker said. “Since we are a volunteer fire department sometimes we need to raise extra funds to purchase equipment and supplies that are in our budget.”
Baker said the department is hoping to have at least 400 people.
“We’d like the community to come out, so they get to know us and we get to know them,” Baker said. “Just form a relationship with the citizens that we serve.”
The Spaghetti Dinner will take place Saturday, Sept. 13 from 4-7 p.m. at the Battle Ground Fire Station, 112 North St. Tickets are $8 for adults, $7 for senior citizens, $5 for children ages 3 to 10, and free for children under 3.
