WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Purdue’s Krannert School of Management has new leadership.
Professor David Hummels took over as Krannert’s interim Dean Thursday. The former dean Chris Earley stepped down this week, but he will continue on Purdue’s faculty.
Hummels, a professor of economics at Purdue and a research associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research, joined Krannert in 2000. Prior to Purdue, he served on the faculty at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Hummels has a PhD in economics from the University of Michigan.
Deba Dutta, Purdue provost and executive vice president for academic affairs, said Hummels is an award-winning teacher and a frequent consultant to the U.S. government and international agencies.
“David’s experience will be tremendously valuable as he guides the school through a national search for a new dean,” Dutta told News 18 in a release.
Hummels will serve as interim dean until a replacement is chosen.
