INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The regular season opener for Indianapolis Colts may be on the road but there is still a party planned in the team’s home city.
The Colts organization said it planned a way for fans to express the energy and excitement that may have been building ahead of the season’s start.
The 2nd annual Colts Kickoff Concert will take place inside Lucas Oil Stadium Friday evening.
The free event features opening act The Easthills and headliners, Blues Traveler.
The Colts say free, family-friendly events are ways to include all Colts fans in the fun with or without a ticket for a game.
“If you can’t make it down to the stadium for a game, this is obviously a great way to bring the family down. Enjoy in fellowship with other Colts fans, show your colts pride, see the cheerleaders, see Blue [the mascot] and enjoy all of those activities,” Colts spokesperson Stephanie Pemberton said.
The event runs 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday. Limited parking will be available for free in the stadium’s south lot.
