TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) – News 18 was with Tippecanoe County deputies Tuesday evening when they had to come to the rescue of a woman who was stranded in high water.

It happened around 7:30 p.m. on N. River Road, near River Bend Hospital. That stretch of roadway is currently closed because of high water.

Deputies had to take a bus to get to the vehicle. A detective had to put on an ice suit and carry the woman to the bus.

They say drivers should never drive through high water. It’s best to just find a different route.
