WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Saturday turned out to be a nice day to circumnavigate the world without leaving the Greater Lafayette area.

The 21st annual Global Fest was held outside of the Morton Community Center on Purdue’s campus.

The event provided a chance to learn about different countries.

Those who attended enjoyed traditional entertainment and food from many cultures.

Organizers said events like Global Fest help people expand their horizons.

“When you all come together, what you think is so dramatically different, really isn’t,” co-founder Bess Witcosky said. “We do have a lot of common ground that we share, and I think West Lafayette is a really great melting pot to welcome everyone here.”

Witcosky said it takes about a year to plan Global Fest. They will start planning for the next festival as soon as Sunday.
