LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Lafayette Christian School set a goal that many would think was not possible.
Principal Jon Rugenstein gave the students a goal to raise $10,000 for their fundraiser “laps.” The money goes toward their special activities funds.
Rugenstein told the students if they reached their goal, he would kiss a pig.
They ended up raised $12,000 and donated more than $1,200 to Lafayette Urban Ministries.
Rugenstein wanted to make sure they were rewarded for their hard work.
“It was just really neat to see,” said Rugenstein. “I honestly didn’t know if they could do it, or not, but they did it. If they’re willing to work that hard, I’ll do something silly and kiss a pig.”
Rugenstein said he is happy to see the students get so involved to help someone other than themselves.
