LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLF) — Ivy Tech Community College held its annual Go Ivy Day at the Lafayette campus Friday.
The event is designed to provide useful information to parents and students interested in higher learning. Faculty and staff answered questions about admissions, financial aid and academics inside Ivy Hall.
More than 500 people registered for this year’s event – a record number for the college.
People of all ages from the Greater Lafayette area were in attendance.
Participants were able to enter a drawing to win one of three scholarship awards. The winners will have one three-hour credit course paid for.
Organizers say the event is for anyone interested in Ivy Tech.
“It’s always a great opportunity for not only just our high school and middle school students to see what Ivy Tech is about, but this open house is for everybody in the Lafayette community,” said Steve Bush, Ivy Tech Lafayette’s assistant director of admissions.
The event ran from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Ivy Tech is the state’s largest public post-secondary institution.
