LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Drivers in Lafayette will want to be aware of an intersection scheduled to close Monday.
The intersection of Greenbush Street and Elmwood Avenue is set to close Monday or soon after.
The closure is part of a large city stormwater initiative. It will include installing a 60-inch sewer pipe under the intersection that will tie into an existing pipe located at 27th Street.
The intersection closure will last about 10 weeks.
The detour for this area will include Melbourne, Vinton and 29th streets.
Drivers are asked to use caution in the area and watch for signage.
Also, drivers should plan their route before heading out and allow extra time for the detour and increased traffic.
