LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Ivy Tech Community College begins its annual Shoes for Water collection drive Monday.

The school’s nursing students will be accepting any and all types of shoes until Oct. 15. The condition does not matter, as long as they are free from mold and mildew.

The shoes will then be donated to WaterStep’s Shoes for Water program.

It works like this: the shoes are sold to businesses in developing countries and the proceeds are used to fund clean water projects around the world.

If you want to donate, drop off shoes at Ivy Tech in Lafayette from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Friday, or on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon. The campus is located at 3101 S. Creasy Lane in Lafayette.
