LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — People came from all over the country for the opening night of the Lafayette Symphony Orchestra.

Saturday kicked off the 66th season for LSO.

The concert featured musical pieces from three different composers throughout history. It was led by maestro Nick Palmer.

Dave and Jill Duncan traveled from Dallas, Texas, to catch the show. They are originally from the Greater Lafayette area, but said they have never been to a musical show at the theater.

“Well, actually, this will be my first time,” Dave Duncan said. “I was here a few years ago helping with some of the AV equipment at the theater and when I was little kid, I was here all of the time for movies. I’m really looking forward to the first time I can see the Symphony here. This will be awesome.”

The couple was also in town to celebrate the birthday of a loved one on the LSO board.

The next concert for the Lafayette Symphony Orchestra is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5.
