MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — A Crawfordsville father is sentenced to 30 years in prison, following the death of his infant son.

According to online court records, 26-year-old Steven Filley pleaded guilty to aggravated battery.

As News 18 has reported, police say the baby suffered head injuries in June.

Filley told police he tripped and fell with the baby, but doctors said the injuries did not match up with that story.

The court agreed to drop two other charges of battery resulting in death of a person less than 14 years old and neglect of a dependent.
