LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Thousands of Dutch apple pies are being handmade from now until Wednesday at Lafayette Christian School.

Volunteers started making the pies Monday morning and will be preparing to sell 7,200 pies for the 22nd annual sale at the end of the week.

“We don’t do pre-sales, but we do where on the side of the school on Brown Street — there’s a line where you pull up, tell them how many pies you would like, and we’ll get them out of the freezer trucks,” organizer Bridget Winger said.

Pies are $12 each and will be sold beginning Wednesday morning from 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.

Pies will be sold until Friday afternoon or until they run out.

School leaders said they expect to raise nearly $70,000 from this year’s pie sale.
