2 charged in Lafayette VP robbery

TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — The Tippecanoe County prosecutor has filed formal charges against two people accused of robbing a Village Pantry early Wednesday morning.

Twenty-two-year-old Bradley Harris and 25-year-old Elizabeth Battle each face multiple charges, including robbery committed while armed with a deadly weapon and theft.

According to court documents, Harris and Battle robbed the clerk at the VP on South Fourth Street at gunpoint, before fleeing the scene with cash.

Lafayette police set up a perimeter to find the suspects. They caught Harris and Battle about 10-15 minutes after the incident.

Police said they also found the cash and a loaded .9 mm handgun.
