LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — As November nears, Lafayette city officials are reminding residents where they can and can’t place political signs.
The city issued a notice reminding residents political signs are not allowed in any right of way on streets and highways.
Clerk Cindy Murray said this applies to all signs, including for-sale and realtor signs.
She said the city has received some complaints, and signs may cause problems for drivers
“It does cause a vision obstruction at times when people are trying to get around the corner or something so we just ask that people be mindful,” Murray said. “The Indiana code states that we can confiscate them.”
The city is also asking residents and candidates to remove signs in a timely manner following the election.
