WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — It’s a bird … it’s a train … it’s Homecoming 2016! That was the theme of Purdue’s homecoming event called the Boilermaker Night Train Parade.
The marching band and various student organizations lit up State Street Friday night. Floats were decked out with super heroes and lights.
News 18 caught up with some students who were attending the parade for the first time. They said it’s a must before graduation.
Student Nora Silence was there to see her friend on the homecoming court.
“We just wanted to support her and see it for ourselves,” she said. “She’s a senior and we’re both juniors, and we’ve never participated in this before so it’s just kind of a cool opportunity.”
The Boilermakers will kick off against Iowa Saturday at noon.
