Twin Lakes student to march at US Army All-American Bowl

MONTICELLO, Ind. (WLFI) — A Twin Lakes High School senior has been selected to be a member of the United States Army All-American Marching Band.

Ryan Hibbets was chosen as one of 125 band members after a review of his audition. He will travel to San Antonio to prepare for the performance at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Jan. 7.

Hibbets was inducted into the band Friday afternoon in front of classmates.

Hibbets said his dad, who is a band director, was the first to tell him the good news.

“I auditioned for two instruments – for the baritone and the trumpet,” Hibbets said. “He showed me the baritone email during band camp and it was like, ‘You didn’t make it.’ The trumpet email was like, ‘You made it and you got first part.’ I was like, ‘Woah.”’

Hibbets is a member of the marching band and the kicker for the football team. He is still undecided as far as a college but plans to study sports management.
