LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Memorial services are set for Kristi Redmon, the Lafayette School Corporation art teacher fatally shot last week.
Services for 52-year-old Redmon, a Lafayette native, will take place as follows:
Visitation: Wednesday, Oct. 19, from 2-4 p.m.
Memorial Service: Wednesday, Oct. 19, at 4 p.m.
Location: Soller Baker Funeral Home, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., in Lafayette
Redmon (1964-2016) was a Jeff High School and Purdue University graduate. She began teaching in the Western Boone School Corporation, but then came back to the Lafayette School Corporation the late ’90s. She taught art at Washington, Murdock, Miller and Glen Acres elementary schools, and was currently teaching at Edgelea and Miami elementary schools.
As News 18 reported, Redmon loved teaching and loved her students.
According to Soller Baker’s bio page on Redmon, she was a diehard Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. She loved nature and had a passion for animals. “She had a smile and passion for life that was unmatched, with a heart of gold and a soul too pure for this world. Her legacy will live on through the thousands of children she has inspired with her passion for art, life and love.“
