2 sent to hospital after crash with concrete truck

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Two people were sent to the hospital Monday morning after a concrete truck struck a minivan near West Lafayette.

Police say the minivan was headed west on State Road 26 and disregarded a stoplight at U.S. 231. That’s when it was hit by a concrete truck headed north on U.S. 231.

The truck went off the road and spilled a large amount of concrete. A street sweeper was brought in to clear the intersection.

The driver of the minivan and a passenger were taken to a local hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

The driver of the concrete truck was not hurt at all.

Traffic is open on both roads.
