Semi catches fire at Indiana Packers

DELPHI, Ind. (WLFI) — Emergency crews responded to a semitrailer that was on fire in Carroll County Monday.

It happened around 6 p.m. in the parking lot at the Indiana Packers plant in Delphi.

Delphi Township Fire Department responded and found the cab of the truck was engulfed in flames.

According to Delphi Fire Chief Darrell Sterrett, the semi was carrying about 450 gallons of diesel fuel.

Sterrett said firefighters quickly attacked the fire with water and had it extinguished in about 10 minutes.

Information has not been released on the fire’s cause or if there were any injuries.
