WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Can you believe we are only eight weeks away from Christmas? This weekend you have the chance to get a head start on your holiday shopping through the Christmas and Holiday Bazaar.

The event is organized by the local chapter of the Blue Star Moms of Indiana. Blue Star Mom Luana Wetli joined us on News 18 at Noon on Tuesday to tell us more details about the Christmas and Holiday Bazaar.

“We have a lot of homemade items. We have a lot of wood products. We have three vendors that make three different wood items. … Then we have several home decor items,” Wetli said.

The Holiday Bazaar will feature 23 vendors.

“You name it, I think we have it this year,” she added.

This event is very important to Blue Star Moms because it’s a fundraiser. Wetli said proceeds go toward their care package program, it helps support mailing out care packages and buying things not donated to put in those parcels.

“Like today, I mailed six care packages to Afghanistan. It cost me a little over $100. That did not include the stuff inside,” Wetli explained. ” … Postage alone just really puts a bite in our budget.”

The Christmas and Holiday Bazaar will be Saturday, Oct. 29, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Reynolds Elementary School on U.S. 24 in Reynolds.
