WARREN COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — A vacant home in Warren County was destroyed after a fire Tuesday.

It happened just after 5 p.m. in the 7200 block of U.S. Highway 136. It was just west of the Fountain County line and the city of Covington.

Joe Gritten, the fire chief on the scene, told News 18 the home was set to be demolished.

He said the owners were removing items from inside and burning them outside when the fire spread to the house.

It took more than half an hour and 5,000 gallons of water for crews to put out the fire.

The cause was determined to be accidental and no injuries were reported.

Gritten asked residents to contact the local fire department when burning items at home.
