LOGANSPORT, Ind. (WLFI) — The city of Logansport is continuing its efforts to become more bicycle friendly.

Bicycle lanes have already been added along a three-block radius on Market Street and East Broadway.

Construction is underway to lay additional lanes along another stretch of East Broadway. The city is also planning to add more signage and decals to the lanes.

Logansport Mayor Dave Kitchell said the bike lanes are a work in progress, and it will take some time getting used to.

“It’s gonna have a learning curve involved with it for motorists and for bicyclists,” Kitchell said. “At the end of the day, if it’s not safe – it’s something we take away. For right now, we’re going to commit to it and do it the way it was intended by the previous administration and to carry out their plan.”

Kitchell said the remainder of the work should be wrapped up by Thanksgiving.
