JASPER CO., Ind. (WLFI) — Two people were injured after a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 65 Sunday.
Just before 3 p.m., Indiana State Police were called to the crash in the northbound lanes of I-65 about 9 miles north of Rensselaer.
Witnesses told police 29-year-old Richard S. Olive of Indianapolis was driving north on the interstate when his vehicle began fishtailing for unknown reasons.
Olive then drove off the right shoulder and then overcorrected back onto the roadway.
After going off to the right side of the road a second time, the vehicle rolled four times ejecting one of the passengers.
The ejected passenger was seen running back to the vehicle by the witnesses. Police said she told them on scene she was not aware that she had been ejected.
Two passengers were flown from the scene for treatment of unknown internal injuries.
All other occupants were taken to Riverside Hospital in Kankakee, Illinois, for treatment.
The northbound lanes of I-65 were closed for about an hour.
