Frankfort shooting suspect faces attempted murder charges

FRANKFORT, Ind. (WLFI) – Following a shooting and an arrest, a Frankfort man is being held on a slew of preliminary charges including attempted murder.

James McMillion was taken into custody without incident Monday night in Indianapolis following a multiagency search.

McMillion was wanted in connection to a shooting on 1300 block of West Jefferson in Frankfort around 12:30 p.m. Monday.

Frankfort police investigators said the victim, a 22-year-old woman, was found shot in the leg and taken to St. Vincent Hospital.

McMillion was transferred and booked into the Clinton County Jail. The Frankfort Police Department said besides attempted murder, McMillion faces six other preliminary charges: possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, battery with a deadly weapon, intimidation with a deadly weapon, criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon and two possession charges — for a syringe and a narcotic drug.
