Alcoa officially changes its name after company split

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Alcoa in Lafayette is now Arconic after Alcoa split into two companies.

A ceremony was held at the newly-named Arconic facility in Lafayette to recognize the separation that took effect Tuesday.

The oldest and newest employees were given the honor of raising the Arconic flag for the first time.

Arconic employs more than 700 people at its Lafayette location.

Arconic will continue making parts for the automotive and aerospace industries.
