WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Boilermakers gutted out a four-set win over Maryland Wednesday night. Purdue won the match 25-23, 25-15, 16-25, 28-26 despite falling behind 13-6 in the final set.
Junior Danielle Cuttino paced the offense with 22 kills, while sophomore Brooke Peters held things down defensively with a career-best 20 digs.
Aiding Cuttino at the net were junior Azariah Stahl (12), redshirt sophomore Sherridan Atkinson (7), redshirt freshman Blake Mohler (5) and redshirt junior Ashley Evans (5). Cuttino also put up a team-best four blocks, while Evans added three to do with a 47-assist, 10-dig double-double.
Peters was one of four Boilermakers with double-digit digs alongside freshman Natalie Haben (13), redshirt sophomore Carissa Damler (13) and Evans. Damler also served up an ace as did Mohler.
The Boilermakers outhit the Terrapins .250 to .208 and outdug Maryland 66 to 57.
