2 missing Alabama children might be heading to Lafayette

ANNISTON, Ala. — Police in Alabama are searching for two missing children believed to possibly be heading toward the Lafayette area.

Thirteen-year-old Jayden Scearcy and 4-year-old Jesse Reed left the Anniston area on Nov. 1 and have not returned, police said.

According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the children may have been taken by their grandmother, 56-year-old Donna Scearcy.

Police said they could be traveling toward the Lafayette area in a 1999 Green Pontiac Montana with an Indiana plate USM486.

Jesse Reid is a white male with brown hair, weighs 50 pounds and is 3 feet 6 inches tall.

Jayden Scearcy is a white male, stands 5 feet tall, weighs 80 pounds and has brown hair.

A felony warrant for kidnapping of a minor was issued for Donna Scearcy on Nov. 1.
