LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — A free concert in downtown Lafayette gave community members a variety of music to enjoy.

Four Purdue musical organizations held the free concert Sunday. The concert featured the Purdue Bells, University Choir, Heart & Soul and the All Campus & Community Chorale. Each group performed a short set before coming in for the finale.

All Campus & Community Chorale performed for the first time this year at the concert. The All Campus & Community Chorale is made up of Purdue students, faculty and staff as well as members of the Greater Lafayette community.

Parent Jennifer Renninger said she drove two hours to see her daughter perform.

“I had a great time. [It] made me cry just watching her,” Renninger said. “I did not expect it to be free. I think that’s wonderful for the community.”

More than 250 students perform with Purdue musical organizations annually.
