TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — Republican Sharon Negele will continue to represent Indiana House, District 13.

District 13 is geographically the largest House District in the state and covers parts of Benton, Fountain, Tippecanoe and White counties.

Negele defeated Democratic candidate Mike Childress with almost 70 percent of the vote.

Negele is against raising taxes on any class. She’s also a supporter of the Second Amendment and believes there should be no government interference with it.

After her victory, she tells News 18 she’s looking forward to helping Indiana stay on the right path.

“My biggest concern is infrastructure. And in District 13, a rural district, we struggle with connectivity,” Negele said. “How can we funnel those dollars maybe more appointed in areas that are so undeserved when it comes to our connectivity?”

Negele said now that the race is over, she will strive to keep the state fiscally strong.
