INDIANAPOLIS (WLFI) — More than 200,000 students across Indiana will be taking part in a mock election Tuesday.

As part of the Indiana Kids’ Election, students will vote for president, governor and Indiana’s U.S. senator.

The program is sponsored by the Indiana State Bar Association, Secretary of State and the Indiana Department of Education.

Students in sixth through 12th grades spent the past two weeks learning about candidates and the election process.

Program sponsors hope the program inspires students to vote as adults.
