WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Now that the polls are closed, many are eagerly waiting for results. Purdue University is hosting an election watch party Tuesday night.

The watch party is being held at the Purdue Honors College and Residence Halls until 10 p.m. Students are on the edge of their seats, watching and waiting.

Purdue President Mitch Daniels will speak to kick off the event and a student panel discussion will also take place.

Honors college student Zach Hellman says he is ready for the results. He said they expect about 500 people to attend and have secondary rooms if more space is needed.

Hellman said there are people from all over campus and from Greater Lafayette attending the watch party. He said this is definitely the biggest one in comparison to those in the past.

Most people at the watch party said they will be using #PurdueVotes and #Election2016.
