Central Catholic baseball standouts sign national letters of intent

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Two Central Catholic baseball standouts signed their national letters of intent Wednesday afternoon.

Ben Metzinger and Tyler Powers are staying local and joining the Boilermakers. Metzinger and Powers were two key members of a star-studded Knights lineup that finished state runner-up in Class 2A this past season.

Metzinger batted .375 to go with 29 RBI, while Powers hit .355 with 28 RBI. As we reported after their commitments, Metzinger and Powers are among four local players targeted by head coach Mark Wasikowski in his first year at Purdue.
