TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — A West Lafayette woman is charged with neglect of a dependent after a witness reported seeing her fall several times while trying to push a stroller.
Lafayette officers responded to the Quality Inn on South Street on Tuesday. Police said they found Jessica Mitchell in the lobby, showing signs of impairment. They said she admitted to smoking spice.
According to court documents, surveillance video shows Mitchell stumbling several times as she pushed the stroller. At one point, the child fell out and started crying.
Mitchell also faces a charge for possession of a synthetic drug.
