TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — It was cold and dark for the 205th Anniversary of the Battle of Tippecanoe ceremony Friday night, but that’s exactly how organizers wanted it.
They wanted onlookers to think about what the Tippecanoe Battlefield was like 205 years ago.
The Tippecanoe County Historical Association hosted the event. Re-enactors were on hand as history about the battle was presented.
Veterans were also recognized for Veterans Day.
“In weather like today, cold or even in heat or wet, preserve this nation. We are a nation, of course, whose rights come from God, but it’s the soldier, the airman, the marine, the sailor that defends those rights,” Steve Abolt said.
There will be free living history events going on all day Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m and on Sunday from 8 a.m. until noon.
