TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — The numbers are in — the United Way of Greater Lafayette has reached its campaign goal.
This year’s goal was $5,075,000.
It was announced Thursday evening that the campaign brought in $5,155,192.
This money will support 22 organizations in the community, as well as the Read to Succeed program.
Community campaign chair Maryann Santos said there’s always the fear of not reaching the goal. But after Thursday, that fear can now be put to rest.
“This is beyond my wildest imagination,” said Santos. “It’s been incredible to see how the community has pulled together to not only make goal, but to exceed goal.”
Santos said the campaign will allow United Way to continue serving people with basic needs like food, shelter, health care and education.
