MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) – The Montgomery County mother who admitted to killing her two children Thursday morning at their Darlington home faces two counts of murder.

According to court documents released Friday, 30-year-old Brandi Worley stabbed her 7-year-old son, Tyler, and 3-year-old daughter, Charlee, before stabbing herself in the neck early Thursday morning.

Documents state Worley told her husband Jason Worley, “Now you can’t take the kids from me,” after he filed for divorce Wednesday — a day before the murders.

Montgomery County Sheriff Mark Casteel said Worley is still in custody at IU Health Methodist Hospital, where she’s being treated for self-inflicted stab wounds to her neck.

Sheriff Casteel said once she’s released from the hospital, she’ll be transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Court documents state Dr. Roland Kohr, who performed the autopsies, ruled the manner of death for each of the Worley children was homicide and the cause of death was stab wounds to their necks.
