LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Within a matter of several hours, Lafayette police responded to two reports of shots fired at Romney Meadows.

The first incident was reported around 10:30 p.m. Thursday on Gordon Court. Police say two or three men shot at another male after an argument broke out over a personal matter.

Police did recover four or five shell casings near the apartments.

A few hours later, around 12:30 a.m. Friday, police were called for another report of shots fired at Romney Meadows.

There was no evidence of shots fired in that incident, but officers found a person of interest from the shooting that happened at 10:30 on Thursday night.

Derrvick Fishers, 24, was arrested on a warrant and a preliminary charge of trespassing. He was not arrested for the shooting but is considered a person of interest.

Police say a gun was recovered from the apartment where Fishers was found.
