Pioneer beats Adams Central 22-8, advances to state championship


MONROE, Ind. (WLFI) — The Pioneer Panthers are headed to the Class A state championship game.

Pioneer advances with a 22-8 win over Adams Central in the semistate game. The Panthers jumped out to a 16-0 lead on touchdown runs from Jack Kiser and Keith Nies. They went for two, and converted after both touchdowns.

After the lead was cut to 16-8 by halftime, Kiser answered with a 50-yard touchdown run in the final minutes of the third quarter.

Pioneer last played in the state championship game in 2014, when they lost to North Vermillion 27-26.
