Shot fired at Friday’s attempted robbery at a Lafayette KFC


LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Friday’s incident that closed several Lafayette streets and had a police presence at a Lafayette restaurant is being investigated as an attempted robbery where one of the subjects fired a gun.

Around 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, the Lafayette Police Department responded to the Kentucky Fried Chicken, 2711 Teal Road, on a report of a man entering the restaurant with a handgun.

During the investigation police learned two men entered the store and one fired a gun. Lafayette police said the incident is being investigated as an attempted robbery.

A search of the area was conducted, including K-9 officers, but no subjects were found.

No injuries were reported. The case remains under investigation.
