MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — The Montgomery County mother who police say confessed to killing her two children earlier this month is out of the hospital and inside a jail cell.
Thirty-year-old Brandi Worley was booked into the Montgomery County Jail a little after 2 p.m. Monday. She had been at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis since Nov. 17th, recovering from self-inflicted stab wounds.
Worley is charged with two counts of murder in the deaths of her two children, 7-year-old Tyler and 3-year-old Charlee. They were found dead in their Darlington, Indiana, home early morning Nov. 17.
Investigators say Worley admitted to the crime in a 911 call, saying, “I just stabbed myself and killed my two children.”
According to court documents, when authorities asked Worley what happened, she said her husband was divorcing her and was going to take the children. She told police, “I did not want him to take my kids” and also stated “I just wanted to die with them.”
Documents also state Worley confessed to the weapon used in the crime and where it was located. Police recovered the knife in the children’s bedroom.
Officers spoke with Worley’s husband who said he was woken up to screaming, and when he got upstairs his wife said to him “now you can’t take the kids from me.”
