CARROLL COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — Many in Carroll County are coming together to honor the lives of the four sisters who died in a devastating house fire last week in Flora.
It’s a sad day for many in the small town of Flora, where dozens gather at Carroll Jr.-Sr. High School to say their final goodbyes.
It’s only been one week since the tragedy. It took the lives of 11-year-old Keyanna Davis, 9-year-old Keyara Phillips, 7-year-old Kerriele McDonald and 5-year-old Kionnie Welch. The coroner ruled that all four girls died of smoke inhalation.
The Flora home on East Columbia Street caught fire on Nov. 21. The girls’ mother, Gaylin Rose, returned home over the weekend after spending close to a week in the hospital.
Family is holding a viewing at the high school gymnasium, where family and friends are encouraged to visit and pay their respects.
The memorial goes until 7 p.m. The funeral is set for Wednesday morning.
We will have more on the memorial service coming up Tuesday night on News 18 at 11.
