Police investigating an armed bank robbery in Monon

MONON, Ind. (WLFI) — Indiana State Police are investigating an armed robbery at a town bank in Monon Tuesday.

Police were called to the Alliance Bank, 319 N. Market St., around 10:45 a.m.

Police said a man showed a handgun to the teller and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash. The subject headed south from the bank on foot.

No one was injured.

Authorities used K-9 officers to search for the person of interest, but he remains at large.

U.S. 421 was closed in the area during the investigation, but has since reopened.
