WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (Purdue Sports) — The No. 15-ranked Purdue men’s basketball team puts its seven-game Challenge win streak on the line when it travels to No. 14-ranked Louisville for the ACC / Big Ten Challenge on Wednesday night.
The contest will be televised by ESPN with Dan Shulman, Jay Bilas and Molly McGrath on the call, tipping off at 7:15 p.m. ET.
After starting the Challenge with a 2-6 record through 2008, the Boilermakers have won seven straight events by an average of 10.9 points per game. Five of the wins have come by at least 11 points, including last year’s 72-59 decision at NCAA Tournament participant Pittsburgh.
Purdue’s seven-game Challenge winning streak is the second-longest streak in event history, just behind Duke’s 10-game streak from 1999-08. With Minnesota losing last night, the next closest winning streak is four by Duke (2012-present).
In addition, Purdue’s nine wins match Minnesota’s for the most in the Big Ten and Purdue’s 60.0 winning percentage (9-6) is tops in the league.
Purdue will return home this weekend, hosting Morehead State on Saturday in Mackey Arena at 2 p.m. ET.
